Le Thi Hoang Sen

Joined CNBM in 2004

Employee of CTIEC Representative Office in Vietnam

Born in January 1982 in Hanoi, Vietnam, Le ThiHuong Sen joined the CTIEC Representative Officein Vietnam in August 2004 after graduating fromEastern University, working as a translator and management. She has been working in CTIEC Vietnam for nearly 19 years, and is the longestserving overseas employee in CTIEC. She is  affactionately called A-Lian by the colleagues.

When A-Lian joined the CTIEC Vietnam  Representative Office, the Nghi Son Pacific cement project was under construction. In order to better practice Chinese, A-Lian, proactively  requested to be stationed in the project for a long period, undertaking translation of documents and meetings, and doing translation at the construction site. She also provided living logistics support, facilitating timely communication and resolution of on-site issues for engineers. The translations for engineering projects required high professionalism, and A-Lian maintained strict standards. To enhance translation accuracy, she worked hard and endured fatigue. A-Lian frequently visited the construction site to consult with engineers, ensuring a thorough understanding of technical terms and delivering excellent and efficient translations for various project tasks. Despite the harsh conditions at the construction site and the heavy workload encroaching on her spare time, A-Lian remained committed and never complained. She translated on the construction site during the day and worked overtime to translate documents at night, effectively managing her time without causing delays to on-site work. The company and owners alike highly praised her efforts. A-Lian's Chinese translation skills significantly improved during the process.

Simultaneously, A-Lian actively participated in the daily operations of the Vietnam Representative Office. She played a key role in translating project bidding documents, preparing tenders, negotiating contracts, and engaging in other crucial tasks. Additionally, she liaised with important local customers and maintained strong relationships with partners. A-Lian also proactively supported the integration and rapid growth of other local employees within the company.

Under the strategic guidance of CNBM Group, CTIEC successfully signed approximately ten building materials projects in Vietnam, with A-Lian making outstanding contributions.

One notable project was the Vietnam Phu My Ultra Clear Float Glass, jointly funded by Triumph Technology Group and local partners. The project achieved tremendous success, positioning it as a national "Belt and Road" key project. It was also featured in the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing on April 25-27, 2019. A-Lian played a crucial role in the project's initial communication and liaison, technical exchanges, investment reviews, as well as managing various formalities. Through these experiences, she developed into an excellent manager.

During the execution of the Phu My project in Vietnam from 2018 to 2020, A-Lian carried a heavy workload in on-site translation. Despite being far away from her family, she overcame the challenges and volunteered to work on-site, supporting young staff from the representative office in completing the translation work together. Although the work and living conditions were tough, A-Lian's enthusiasm never waned, and when she had video calls with her daughter, the fatigue of work seemed to fade away. She continued to serve everyone with unparalleled dedication.

From 2021 to 2022, the severe COVID-19 epidemicin China posed significant challenges for the Chinese management staff of the representative office in Vietnam. With difficulties in traveling, the most senior local staff in the representative office took charge, leading their fellow local staff members under the guidance of their superiors. They actively undertook the day-to-day operations and management of the representative office, maintaining strong relationships with local customers, ensuring smooth communication with long-term partners, and guaranteeing uninterrupted operation of the representative office throughout the epidemic period. Their efforts were instrumental in sustaining the representative office's functionality despite the crisis.

Since joining the Vietnam Representative Office,A-Lian has consistently demonstrated dedication and hard work, progressing from a young graduate to an exceptional translator and manager. For nearly 20 years, she has been a witness to the company's thriving business development in Vietnam, as well as the successful implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative in the country. A-Lian always says that joining the company's Vietnam office was a profoundly impactful decision in her life. She remains committed to making valuable contributions to the company's future success.

Personal Insights

It has been ten years since the Belt and Road Initiative proposed. As a witness of its implementation,I have seen the major collaborative projects between China and Vietnam under this initiative go from being mere blueprints to successfully being realized, ultimately resulting in significant economic benefits. These ten years have been truly extraordinary, not only for these projects, but also in terms of my own continuous personal growth and development. I genuinely hope for an even brighter future for the company.

Decky Prayoga

Joined CNBM in 2016

Assistant to Procurement Department in PT CITEC Engineering Indonesia

Decky Prayoga is an employee of PT CITEC Engineering Indonesia of Tianjin Cement Industry Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. (TCDRI) , a subsidary of SINOMA International. Hailing from a small town called Bandung, Decky joined the company without any relevant work experience. However, no matter what task was assigned to him, even if he didn’t know how to do it, he always responded with a resounding “Yes.” At first glance, he might not appear to be an outstanding employee. Initially, the company only entrusted him with small tasks. However, as time went on, he gradually accumulated work experience and began to assume greater responsibilities.

In the face of any difficulty, he consistently maintains a positive attitude, willingly embraces innovation, and dares to take on challenges. He becomes more proficient in completing his work and steadily makes progress, gradually becoming an indispensable member of the team.

Decky’s career journey began in the general affairs department, where he took on tax-related tasks. Initially, he wasn’t very familiar with this line of work. However, as time passed, he gradually became a “jack of all trades” when it came to tax matters. He consistently coordinated and communicated with the headquarters and onsite team through emails, phone calls, and text messages, assisting the finance department in completing local tax service reports over the past five years. No matter how complex the situation, he always took responsibility, driving the smooth progress of work with excellent professional skills and unwavering determination. His outstanding performance received high recognition from his superiors, leading to his assignment to the procurement department to embrace greater challenges and take on more significant responsibilities.

During the implementation of the CITEC project in Indonesia, Decky served in the procurement role. He steadfastly adhered to core principles, ensuring that every purchase and delivery of goods proceeded in an orderly manner. He invested significant effort in strengthening procurement procedures and controls, achieving the goal of cost reduction. Even in urgent and complex circumstances, he demonstrated flexibility in applying his intellect and experience to handle challenging issues. Decky’s professional competence and leadership qualities set him apart within the project team, earning him the admiration and respect of his colleagues.

Furthermore, Decky is skilled in interpersonal communication. He closely collaborates with local individuals on site, using his exceptional communication skills to facilitate the smooth implementation of various tasks. Despite language and cultural challenges, Decky’s extraordinary interpersonal abilities and keen insight enable him to earn the trust of local individuals, promoting cooperation across departments and national boundaries, and helping the team solve various problems. Due to his consistently outstanding performance, he was recognized as the TCDRI’s Outstanding Foreign Employee for the year 2022, gradually becoming one of the most popular individuals within the entire company.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Decky led local employees to firmly adhere to the epidemic prevention and control measures formulated by the company. He carefully explained the risks of  COVID-19 to local employees and the necessity for the company to take epidemic prevention and control measures. He led local employees to jointly maintain the company's image, effectively ensuring the life and personal safety of all CITEC employees.

After normal operation resumed, the client and project department relied on his language advantages, as well as his sincere, pragmatic, diligent, and responsible work style. Taking a "Yes Man" work attitude, he has effectively undertaken business inventory, transportation vehicle scheduling, and procurement work, ensuring that transportation vehicles accurately arrive at their destination.

Decky has been working in the CITEC department of TCDRI for 7 years and has become an indispensable and important member of the procurement department. During this period, Decky also grew rapidly and gradually became the backbone of the procurement department. He said that his work experience in a Chinese company not only enabled him to continuously grow and develop, but also changed his fate. He shares a common destiny with the Chinese company and its employees, and hopes that CITEC, TCDRI, and SINOMA International can achieve greater development in Indonesia in the future.

Personal  Insights

Despite facing various challenges, I always maintain a positive attitude, demonstrating a willingness to innovate and embrace challenges. I hope that my story of personal growth can inspire each one of you who are hardworking and determined. I sincerely hope that the company will achieve even greater development in Indonesia in the future.
